Elettra into the blue: working visit to OGS

“Blue growth” is the long term strategy of the European Commission to support sustainable growth in the marine and maritime sectors as a whole. Seas and oceans are drivers for the European economy and have great potential for innovation and growth. It is the maritime contribution to achieving the goals of the Europe 2020 strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.

On October 28th 2016, a delegation of Elettra researchers visited the OGS (National Institute of Oceanography and Experimental Geophysics) to present available techniques and current research lines dealing with marine biology and environment protection.

The OGS oceanography division’s activites were then presented by the section head, Dr. Del Negro.

In the following discussion, the feedback from OGS researchers was extremely positive, thus setting the basis for future scientific collaborations and best practice exchanges.
